Internet-auction company eBay Inc. announces that next month will begin online auctions in Japan through a joint venture with Japanese computer giant NEC Corp., the companies said Thursday. The joint venture, called eBay Japan, was set up with an initial investment of $20 million and aimed to take advantage of the growing popularity of online shopping in Japan.
