DaimlerChrysler has seen a significant increase in profits in the fourth quarter of 1999. The company's profit has risen 87% to $1.1 billion, up from $587 million in the same quarter the previous year. The strong performance is attributed to a number of factors, including increased sales of luxury vehicles and improved cost control measures. DaimlerChrysler's flagship Mercedes-Benz brand had performed particularly well, with strong sales in Europe and North America.
