the World Trade Organization issues a ruling stating that Brazil has not yet succeeded in removing illegal subsidies in its aircraft industry, while Canada is fully compliant with international trade laws. A panel of WTO experts determined that Brazil had failed to comply with a previous WTO order that required the withdrawal of illegal export subsidies that benefited the airline manufacturer, Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica SA. Furthermore, the panel rejected a claim by Brazil that Canada had also failed to implement the earlier ruling.
