According to a report, a current estimate suggests that five lakh illegal immigrants a year are seeking entry - illegally - into European Union countries via Italy's Adriatic Sea coastline to seek better economic opportunities. Despite the E.U. Governments adopting stringent new immigration rules, individuals continue to seek "political asylum" by claiming they are fleeing oppression in their home countries, although over 90 percent of them are often categorized as "economic migrants".
