Communications Minister, Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan, states that, India's telecom infrastructure is undergoing significant expansion and modernization to meet the needs of the information technology sector, as the country aims to become an IT superpower. He stated that an investment of $38 billion is anticipated over the next five years due to the projected increase in tele-density from 2.7 per 100 to 7 per 100 by 2005.
