Rakuten Inc., which operates Japan's largest online shopping mall, has announced its plan to purchase Infoseek Japan KK, a significant provider of Internet search services. The acquisition will involve acquiring all remaining shares of Infoseek Japan for around 9 billion yen ($81.4 million) on Thursday.
