Mr. James D Wolfensohn, President of the World Bank, is scheduled to visit India for an official 10-day trip beginning tomorrow. The purpose of his visit is to evaluate the Bank's poverty reduction program and its impact in India. During his trip, Mr. Wolfensohn will tour development projects, meet with government leaders and businessmen, and assess how the Bank's mission of poverty reduction is being implemented in a country where over one-third of the world's poor reside. The Bank has released a statement regarding Mr. Wolfensohn's visit.
