In a first, and a significant advancement towards creating a cancer vaccine for humans, French scientists have made progress in developing a compound that combines protein fragments from a bacteria and cancer cell. The resulting mixture can selectively activate the immune system to attack cancer cells in mice, as reported by the researchers. Their findings will be published in the Journal of Immunology later this week.
