Sources within the government have reported that the ruling coalition parties in Japan have reached a consensus on a supplementary budget for fiscal year 2000, amounting to slightly under 4 trillion yen ($40 billion). The allocated funds are intended for various initiatives, including those centered around information technology and disaster prevention, as well as loan programs aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.
