Scientists have identified the fossilized remains of the largest flying bird ever found. With a wingspan of 6.1 to 7.4 meters (20-24 feet), this bird would have resembled a seagull on steroids. The fossil, discovered in South Carolina 30 years ago, has been confirmed as a new species. Experts are impressed by the remarkable preservation and exquisite skull of the 25-million-year-old creature.
