BB&T Corp. agrees to acquire Susquehanna Bancshares Inc. for around $2.5 billion in cash and stock. The deal will expand BB&T's presence in the mid-Atlantic region. Susquehanna shareholders will receive approximately $13.75 per share based on BB&T's closing price, representing a nearly 39% premium over Susquehanna's previous closing price.
