Envision Healthcare Holdings Inc. finalizes its acquisition of Rural/Metro Corp., a privately held ambulance and fire-protection services company, for $620 million in cash. Rural/Metro faced financial challenges and bankruptcy in 2013 but emerged with a capital infusion. This deal allows Envision Healthcare to expand its portfolio and strengthen its position in the ambulance and emergency services sector.
