The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports the death of a 21-year-old woman caused by Naegleria fowleri, a rare and highly fatal brain-eating amoeba. This amoeba enters the body through the nose during swimming in warm freshwater and migrates to the brain, causing severe illness. Although the risk of infection is extremely low, it is important to raise awareness about preventive measures when engaging in water activities.
