A rare lightning storm in southern Norway claims the lives of 323 reindeer on the Hardanger plateau. The animals were found stacked on top of each other, possibly due to their tendency to group together when in danger. The moist conditions in the area likely contributed to the high mortality rate. Experts collect samples to monitor diseases, while injured reindeer are euthanized. The fate of the carcasses remains uncertain.
