India officially becomes a member of the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR), an informal political understanding among 35 member states aimed at limiting the proliferation of missiles and missile technology. Although the MTCR does not impose legally binding obligations, India's membership signifies its commitment to controlling the spread of missile technology and strengthens its global standing in the field of nonproliferation.
