Rodrigo Duterte, also known as Digong, assumes office as the 16th President of the Philippines. Duterte, a lawyer and politician, hails from Mindanao and leads the ruling political party, PDP–Laban. As the oldest person to assume the presidency at 71 years old, Duterte's leadership focuses on addressing crime and transforming Davao City into an investor-friendly and secure environment during his over two-decade tenure as mayor.
