Pakistan holds a state funeral for Ruth Pfau, a German-born Catholic nun known as "Pakistan's Mother Teresa," who dedicated her life to combating leprosy in the country. Pfau emigrated to Pakistan in 1961 and spent over 55 years establishing leprosy clinics and treating thousands of patients. Her significant contributions to healthcare and her compassionate service earned her numerous awards and recognition. Pfau passed away in August 2017 and was buried with state honors.
