Turkey decides to exclude the teaching of Darwin's theory of evolution in high schools, considering it controversial and difficult to comprehend. This move has drawn criticism, with concerns that it undermines the secular foundation of the Turkish state. The chapter on evolution will be removed from standard biology textbooks, making it accessible only to university-level students aged 18 or 19, according to Alparslan Durmus, head of the national education board.
