The European Commission imposes a record €2.42 billion antitrust fine on Google, alleging manipulation of search engine results. The fine is the result of a seven-year investigation and centers around Google's online shopping service. The commission finds that Google unfairly promotes its own shopping comparison service over competitors. Google has been given 90 days to end its anti-competitive practices or face additional fines.
