Japanese scientists have discovered that mouse sperm stored on the International Space Station for 9 months can produce healthy mice. This experiment, known as the Space Pup experiment, examined the effects of radiation on reproduction. Mouse sperm exposed to cosmic radiation for nearly six years resulted in the birth of 168 healthy mice when rehydrated on Earth. The study aimed to explore the possibility of breeding animals for food through artificial insemination in space.
