A 1982 painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat sells for $110.5 million at Sotheby's New York, setting a new record for any U.S. artist at auction. The untitled work, bought by Tokyo e-commerce tycoon Yusaku Maezawa, surpasses the previous record held by Andy Warhol's "Silver Car Crash (Double Disaster)." The vibrant painting, featuring colorful slashes and a menacing black skull, represents Basquiat's distinctive graffiti-inspired style and highlights the growing value of his artwork.
