Apple Inc. and Ireland reach an interim agreement to create an escrow fund of €13 billion for the repayment of back taxes, starting in early 2018. Both parties deny the illegality of the alleged "sweetheart" tax deals. The European Commission had previously ordered Apple to repay the €13 billion after determining that the company received unfair advantages.
