International Rights Advocates files a lawsuit against Apple, Google, Tesla, Dell, and Microsoft on behalf of Congolese families whose children were harmed or killed in cobalt mines supplying these companies. The lawsuit alleges that the companies were aware of the link between cobalt used in their products and child labor. The Democratic Republic of Congo produces 60% of the world's cobalt, which is vital for lithium-ion batteries used in electric cars, laptops, and smartphones.
