Félix Tshisekedi is declared the winner of the Democratic Republic of the Congo's presidential election, though second-place candidate Martin Fayulu alleges electoral fraud and plans to challenge the result. Tshisekedi is the leader of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS) and succeeded his father, Étienne Tshisekedi, as party leader. This election marked the first peaceful transition of power in the country since its independence in 1960.
