Beji Caid Essebsi, the first freely-elected President of Tunisia, passes away at the age of 92. Tunisian parliament President Mohamed Ennaceur assumes the role of interim president. Essebsi played a crucial role in Tunisia's transition to democracy and led the country as its president from December 2014 until his death.
