WeWork announces plans to lay off approximately 2,400 employees, around 17% of its workforce, in an effort to reduce losses following its failed initial public offering. Financial difficulties led to the need for downsizing, as WeWork faced mounting losses and struggled to meet severance costs. The company had around 14,500 employees before the layoffs.
