Poland has once again blocked a proposed compromise on implementing a minimum corporate tax across the European Union, dealing another blow to international tax reform efforts. Despite amendments, Poland remains concerned that the minimum tax could take effect without adequate rules to prevent large multinationals from shifting profits to low-tax countries. Last month, Poland joined three other countries in blocking a previous attempt at a compromise, but other nations withdrew their opposition after modifications were made.
