Extinction Rebellion activists staged a protest in London by surrounding a Shell tanker on Bayswater Road, expressing their opposition to the use of fossil fuels. Among the demonstrators were Olympic gold medalists Etienne Stott and Laura Baldwin, who had reportedly glued themselves to the top of the tanker. The Metropolitan Police confirmed six arrests related to vehicle interference, but it remains unclear if the Olympians were among those detained. Stott emphasized his aim to disrupt the harmful fossil fuel industry.
