European Union member states have reached an agreement to implement a natural gas price cap in response to the ongoing global energy crisis. The cap will take effect from February 15 if gas prices on the TTF benchmark surpass €180/MWh for three consecutive days and exceed a reference price based on LNG assessments by €35/MWh. The decision comes after extensive discussions among EU energy ministers and aims to address the energy crisis while generating differing opinions within the bloc.
