Brazil's economy rebounded strongly in 2021, growing by 4.6%, the largest increase since 2011, after a sharp contraction in 2020 caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose by 0.5% in Q4 2021, reaching R$ 8.7 trillion for the year. Services and industry were the main drivers of growth, with agriculture experiencing a slight decline. The recovery was supported by increased transportation, communication, and face-to-face services, as well as a boost in construction and manufacturing industries. However, the agricultural sector was negatively impacted by droughts and frosts, affecting the output of crops and livestock.
