The Lithuanian government has decided not to extend the state of emergency along its border with Belarus, which was implemented in August to control the influx of irregular migrants. Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte stated that the state of emergency will also end at camps hosting migrants. Lithuania and Poland, both EU member states, had experienced a decrease in attempts to cross their borders recently. The state of emergency was initially declared for three months and extended until January 15.
