The collaborative James Webb Space Telescope, comprising NASA, the European Space Agency, and the Canadian Space Agency, successfully reaches its orbit near the Sun-Earth L2 Lagrange point, approximately 1.5 million kilometers from Earth. Positioned at L2, the telescope maintains alignment with Earth and enjoys a stable thermal environment. Its sunshield blocks light and heat, facilitating the observation of faint infrared signals. With its flexible field of view, different instruments can observe specific areas without the need for full repositioning. After commissioning, Webb will commence its mission to unravel the mysteries of the Universe.
