Xiomara Castro is inaugurated as Honduras' 56th President, marking her historic role as the country's first female president. Also known as Xiomara Castro de Zelaya, she served as the first lady during her husband Manuel Zelaya's presidency. Xiomara Castro Sarmiento, a Honduran politician, assumes the presidency and holds the distinction of being the first woman to hold this position in Honduras.
