The European Union officially approves Croatia's entry as the 20th member of the Eurozone. Croatia is set to adopt the euro as its currency on January 1, 2023. The European Council, comprising the 27 EU governments, has passed three necessary legal acts to enable Croatia, an EU member since 2013, to introduce the euro. One of these acts establishes the conversion rate of one euro to 7.53450 Croatian kuna. Croatia now has a few months to make practical preparations for the currency transition.
