Scientists have discovered the wreck of the Endurance, the ship that belonged to renowned Antarctic explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton. The ship, which sank in 1915 after being crushed by sea-ice, has been found at the bottom of the Weddell Sea. Remarkably, the remains of the Endurance are in excellent condition, with its timbers still intact and the name clearly visible on the stern. Marine archaeologist Mensun Bound described it as the finest wooden shipwreck he has ever seen.
