Over nine million children in Eastern and Southern Africa will receive polio vaccinations in response to an outbreak confirmed in Malawi. Led by governments with support from UNICEF and partners, the mass campaign started in Malawi and will extend to Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zambia. Additional rounds of vaccination will be conducted in the coming months, aiming to cover more than twenty million children. UNICEF is providing support, including vaccine procurement and training for healthcare workers.
