The Food and Agriculture Organization predicts that global food import spending will rise by 10 percent to reach a record high of $1.94 trillion by the end of the year. This increase is attributed to currency devaluations and the conflict in Ukraine. High-income countries will account for the majority of the spending surge, and food import volumes are also anticipated to increase.
