The United States proposes a resolution at the United Nations Security Council to authorize the deployment of a "multinational rapid action force" to Haiti due to the persisting "instability and violence" within the country. This proposal comes after Haiti's government, led by Henry and his cabinet, requested foreign troops to combat gangs and anti-government protests in Port-au-Prince. Earlier, the United States and Mexico provided military assistance, while the UN Security Council unanimously voted for sanctions targeting armed gangs, including asset freezes, travel bans, and an arms embargo.
