Russia has announced plans to evacuate civilians from Kherson to other regions of Ukraine following an appeal by Volodymyr Saldo, the Russian-installed leader of Kherson Military-Civilian Administration. The decision, made by Russian deputy prime minister Marat Khusnullin, aims to assist residents in moving away from the partially occupied region. The call for evacuation came from Saldo, who faces treason charges in Ukraine and urged Russian intervention to protect locals from Ukrainian attacks. The move raises concerns of Kherson becoming a new frontline in the conflict.
