Belarus announces its inability to repay its foreign currency debt due to the impact of international sanctions imposed by the European Union and the United States. The World Bank declares Belarus' loans as "nonperforming" due to significant overdue payments. Belarus, a close ally of Russia, has supported Russia in the Russo-Ukrainian War. While initially denying involvement, Belarus later admitted to allowing Russian missile launchers on its territory. Despite tensions at the border, Belarusian Armed Forces have not directly participated in the conflict.
