The British government commits £14.2 billion (US$19 billion) to build the Sizewell C nuclear power station in Suffolk, aiming to cut fossil fuel dependence, meet climate goals, and enhance energy security. This brings total government investment to £17.8 billion. Chancellor Rachel Reeves calls it the largest nuclear rollout in a generation. The project is set to create 10,000 jobs and power six million homes, though no new private investors are yet announced.
