The European Commission has reached an agreement in principle on a new, long-term trade deal with Ukraine, replacing the temporary wartime framework known as Autonomous Trade Measures (ATMs). The revised Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) reflects a more modest but stable trade structure. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen affirmed the EU’s commitment to Ukraine’s integration, calling it part of the “European family.” The deal maintains key access for Ukrainian agricultural exports like grain and poultry to EU markets.
