A gang of masked thieves carried out a daring daylight robbery at Paris’s Louvre Museum, stealing nine priceless royal jewels on Sunday morning. Using a mechanical ladder to access a first-floor window, the group broke display cases in the Gallery of Apollo and fled on mopeds. The haul included jewels from France’s 19th-century royalty, such as Empress Eugénie’s brooch and emerald earrings. Her crown was recovered nearby, apparently dropped in haste. Authorities have launched a major manhunt, and the Louvre remains temporarily closed.
