Germany continues its nuclear phaseout policy...
Germany demolishes two massive cooling towers of the former Gundremmingen nuclear power plant in Bavaria on Saturday, marking another milestone in its nuclear phaseout policy. The towers, weighing around 56,000 tonnes of concrete, were brought down in a controlled demolition at noon. The Gundremmingen plant, once a major local employer and landmark for nearly six decades, was decommissioned in December 2021 alongside the Brokdorf and Grohnde plants under Germany’s ongoing energy transition plan.
