Thailand and Cambodia sign a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement following last year’s border clashes, in a ceremony presided over by President Donald Trump, who hailed it as “historic.” Under the deal’s first phase, Thailand will release Cambodian prisoners, while Cambodia will withdraw heavy artillery from the frontier. Regional observers will monitor compliance. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called it a “historic day,” and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said it lays “the building blocks for lasting peace.”
