Nepal gets its first female Prime Minister...

Nepal has appointed former Supreme Court Chief Justice Sushila Karki as interim prime minister, making her the country’s first female head of government. President Ram Chandra Poudel dissolved parliament and scheduled new elections for March 5, following violent protests that toppled the previous administration. Karki, 73, known for her anti-corruption stance during her tenure as chief justice (2016–2017), was sworn in Friday. The unrest, sparked by a rescinded social media ban, escalated into nationwide riots that left parliament, the presidential residence, and businesses in flames.
