Afghanistan remains under a near-total telecommunications blackout for a second day after the Taliban cut off mobile and internet services nationwide. Authorities said the move, ordered by Supreme Leader Hibatullah Akhundzada, aims to “prevent immorality.” Connectivity has dropped to below 1% of normal levels, according to watchdog NetBlocks. The shutdown has paralyzed business and daily life, with residents describing the country as “blind without phones and internet” amid frozen markets and halted communication.
