Astronomers identify a possible new cosmic object called a “black hole star” using NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope. The object, MoM-BH*-1, appears as an extremely red, bright spot in the early universe, forming about 660 million years after the Big Bang. Although it resembles a giant star, it emits far more energy than any known star, suggesting a black hole wrapped in dense gas. Scientists say similar “Little Red Dots” may also be black hole stars and could represent the early seeds of today’s supermassive black holes.
