At the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, the Tianzhuo humanoid robot runs 100 metres in 9.39 seconds, beating Usain Bolt’s human world record of 9.58 seconds. The event highlights rapid advances in humanoid robotics, with earlier robots taking more than 21 seconds for the same race. Other robots also surpass human records in high jump and half-marathon events, though some need engineer assistance. The breakthrough is driven by lightweight actuators, carbon-fibre leg systems, and real-time AI balance algorithms, but practical real-world uses remain limited.
