Skyroot Aerospace completes its maiden orbital mission, Mission Aagaman, as Vikram-1 lifts off from ISRO’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The launch makes India one of the few countries with private orbital launch capability, ending the earlier state-only model. Vikram-1 places multiple commercial, experimental, and symbolic payloads into low Earth orbit, including satellites, a debris-removal robotic arm, and technology demonstrators. The mission validates India’s private space reforms, strengthens public-private space collaboration, and positions Skyroot to begin commercial launch services from 2027.
